beSpacific is a new weblog, launched on January 4, 2003, which should be of great interest to the legal community. It is the work of Sabrina I. Pacifici, who is well known as the co-founder of LLRX.com, along with being its principal editor and publisher. With beSpacific, she has created a completely new resource for researchers who are interested in a factual current awareness tool that will help them monitor hot topics in the legal-tech arena. beSpacific launched with over 500 entries, has an archive back to September 2002, and a well designed, user friendly interface. It focuses on issues including privacy, Internet filtering and censorship, freedom of information, digital rights and copyright, federal and state tech-related legislation, e-government initiatives, and more. It stands out because of the concise postings take researchers directly to court opinions, agency and corporate press releases, surveys, reports and government documents that are the subject of current news articles. Topics are assigned to each daily posting (there are generally 6-10 postings each day), all of which are archived and easily searchable via the blog's database. In addition, all the topics covered by beSpacific are listed on the right hand side of the site's main page, with links that take you to all related postings. You can also subscribe to a free, daily e-mail delivery of beSpacific postings, which I recommend.
