FERRET–The Federal Electronic Research and Review Extraction Tool

This is a new service from the U.S. Census Bureau. It allows researchers to extract information from the current Population Surveys March 1995 and 1996 supplements and the CPS Displaced Workers 1996 data. Preformatted macrodata tables are available in nine categories for the CPS March supplements. The site provides the ability to query and extract microdata records from both datasets. The microdata can be viewed or downloaded as ASCII text with crosstabs or frequencies, or as SAS datasets. More datasets will be available in the future.
