The Multiple Court Searches covers Federal District Court Civil Cases and Patent, Trademark and Copyright Cases, as well as Federal Contract Law Cases and others. Miscellaneous listings includes case information from the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the International Court of Justice. Legal Dockets Online provides free access to most of the courts listed. Very nicely done. Worth a look.
TRADEMARKSCAN – Japan on SAEGIS Launched
PR Newswire: June 4, 2001. Thomson & Thomson has announced the launch of TRADEMARKSCAN-Japan on SAEGIS. TRADEMARKSCAN-Japan is a database of Japanese trademarks designed to be used outside of Japan. The
searchable entries are translated and transliterated to display the trademark, as filed, and its phonetics.
Updated monthly, the database contains over 2.5 million applications and registrations of Japanese trademarks. The SAEGIS search software will “enable clients to manage and protect their global trademark portfolios,

NCOA Launches Benefits Site
The National Council on the Aging has launched its BenefitsCheckUp.org site to assist senior citizens who may not be taking advantage of federal and state
programs to which they are entitled.
Powered by Vital Aging and hosted by AOL’s Government Guide, the site
<http://www.benefitscheckup.org> offers users a confidential questionnaire to determine eligibility requirements. (Note that the questionnaire is for US
citizens only.) Some of the questions answered are pretty specific (there are questions on income and household costs of things like fuel and medical
expenses) but I never saw an request for a name along with all the other information. Information on the questionnaire is then compared with federal and state programs, and the site reports which services are available.
Click on the name of a program and the site will give you a description of the program, a contact address and phone number for the program, and what you’ll need to show in order to enroll in the program (proof of age, proof of state residency, etc.)
BioNutritional Encyclopedia Sets Single-Seat Subscription Fee

Company Sleuth Starts Fee-Based Services
Company Sleuth <http://www.companysleuth.com/>, a site that allows you to track company news and information, has moved to a subscription model.
The annual fee will be $79.95. For that subscribers will be able to track information on up to 50 companies, and receive daily e-mail updates. They’ll
also have access to the new Company Sleuth Research Library.
If you don’t care to subscribe, you can still use the Company Sleuth site but your access will be limited. A 14-day trial subscription is available to current
registered users and new users.
Yahoo Teams Up With Consumer Reports
Yahoo announced this morning that they’re teaming up with Consumers Union, publisher of Consumer Reports magazine and Consumer Reports Online. Yahoo has integrated free buying guides and pay-per-view product ratings from Consumer Reports into Yahoo Shopping <http://shopping.yahoo.com>. You can browse the guides currently available at http://shopping.yahoo.com/consumerreports. You can get a basic overview of a category free, or buy the whole report for 30-day access. All the ones I looked at were $2.95.
Yahoo has also integrated Consumer Reports auto buying guides into Yahoo Autos <http://autos.yahoo.com/>. You can go straight to the Consumer Reports for cars at <http://autos.yahoo.com/consumerreports/>. Yahoo noted
in their press release that they’re working with Consumer Reports to integrate buying guides into other areas of Yahoo, but didn’t go into specifics.
washingtonpost.com Launches Personalization Service
washingtonpost.com has announced its personalization service, mywashingtonpost.com. Registered users on mywashingtonpost.com can select which modules of news and information they wish to receive.
Current module choices include headlines, comics, entertainment, weather, Washington jobs, sports and stocks. Each module can be customized, such as selecting Top News, Metro Top News, and/or OnPolitics Top News under headlines. The entertainment section includes movies and an event search engine, while the weather module will provide weather information of any
city or U.S. zip code.
ebrary Announces University Presses Agreement
PR Newswire: June 4, 2001. ebrary has announced an agreement with twelve university presses including MIT Press and Stanford University Press. According to the agreement, the presses will provide titles which ebrary will offer through its channel partners and from its Web site. ebrary software will be used to distribute the online content securely, while providing additional

U.S. Copyright Office Launches Web Tool
News.com: June 4, 2001. The U.S. Copyright Office has announced the launching of a Web tool which assists in identifying copyright owners of books and other works that may be downloaded or traded online. 13 million search terms and works registered since 1978 are included in this database.
FORTUNE CNET Technology Review Launched
Fortune Magazine and CNET Networks, Inc. have partnered to launch FORTUNE CNET Technology Review, with a 1.2 million circulation and Web presence at http://fortune.cnet.com/.
