Kenneth Scott Ames
Fireside21. Previously, he served as Director of Client Relationships for CQ Roll Call, Legislative Assistant for Representative Barney Frank, and Special Assistant for Representative Steny Hoyer. A native of Massachusetts, his interest in government brought him to Washington, D.C., to attend The George Washington University. Kenny also is active in the community. He is president of the Young Lobbyist Network; a writer for Cloture Club; a board member of the Young Professionals Division and Civil Rights Steering Committee for the DC chapter of the Anti-Defamation League; a member of the Ben Gurion Society of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington; and an active member of the DC Road Runners Club. Additionally, he is past-president of the U.S. Senate Toastmasters and an accomplished speaker having won several speech contests. Kenny graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with an M.A. in government with a concentration in political communication. His thesis titled, Social Media #FTW!: The Influence of Social Media in American Politics, won the William F. Clinger, Jr. Award for an outstanding thesis in institutional or representative government. He resides in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, D.C., with Laura, his fiancé, and Sammy, their Springer Spaniel.
